The Scoretop 84
The Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®) has announced the completion of its investigation of GMAT® test takers who paid to receive active test questions on the Web site Scoretop.com, in violation of GMAC testing policies and procedures.
As a result of the investigation, GMAC has canceled the scores of a total of 84 test-takers. Twelve posted live GMAT questions on the Scoretop Web site and will not be eligible to take the test again for a minimum of three years. The remaining 72 wrote messages on Scoretop confirming that they saw items from the site on their GMAT exam. The scores of these individuals were also canceled; however, they are now allowed to re-test. Schools to which test scores of the students have been sent have also received notification of this action.
Business Week reports that of 12 barred for three years and 72 who need to retake it, some have already been admitted or graduated from business school.-Adam Markus

Tokyo MBA Tour Event Report
Here is Steve's initial reaction to the event:
In this next video, I talk about school selection as well as the death of my pet theory about the pens:
Bottom line: Do enough research to figure out where you want to go and just don't focus on schools whose names you know. Become informed, compare, and then come up with your list. For more about school selection, please see my earlier posts on the subject.

At The MBA Tour Tonight 9/8 in Tokyo
My colleague and fellow blogger, Steve Green, will also be attending. While I suspect I will do a bit of Twitter, mostly I will be gathering some brochures. Some video reporting will follow.
If you go to this or another fair, just remember one thing: He or she who collects the most free pens wins. As I suggested in a much earlier post, the best pens are usually given away by lower ranked programs.
